Of these five, I got my hands on Enlightening, Amethyst and Jet Couture. Let me start by saying that MAC Pressed Pigments ( $25 each) are pretty awesome. Glitter, glimmer, sparkle, shimmer, oh my! There are so many adjectives to describe the degree of glisten in shadows these days sometimes I feel the onus of being true to the most awesome shadows among us. MAC proves that all that glitters is golden on the eyes! As long as you use some type of glue first, the glitter will stick and not be falling down your face throughout the day. Overall, I thought the glitter was fairly easy to apply despite it being so easy to make a mess of. Then I sprinkled some of the glitter on my hand and used my finger to pat the glitter onto my entire eyelid (not going above the crease). I actually used an eye lash glue and it worked great! It didn’t feel heavy at all like I was expecting. Too Faced makes a great glitter glue that’s sold at Sephora here. In order to get the glitter to stick, make sure to apply glitter glue to the area you’re placing the glitter first. Afterwards, I used a light brown all over and in the crease and a darker brown only in the crease. Then I applied a yellowish white shadow all across my eye as a base (similar to Urban Decay’s “Foxy”). I first primed my eyes with MAC’s Paint Pot in “Painterly” to prevent my eyeshadow from creasing. You can also hold a tissue under your eye while you apply the glitter so it doesn’t fall onto the skin, because it’s harder to get off than you would think! But before you begin, make sure you haven’t put on any concealer or foundation under your eyes so when the excess glitter falls off your eye lids after the initial application, it won’t have anything to stick to and will be easier to wipe away. I chose to review glitter #1 (metallic gold yellow).īecause the glitter is not really an eye shadow, it’s necessary to create your smokey eye first. As shimmery as eye shadow can be, sometimes it’s just not enough sparkle – so that’s when it’s time to invest in some artistry glitter! There are so many different ways you can rock this glitter, from wearing it on your eyes, to sprinkling it on a lip gloss.
